Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information TutorSouq handles, why it is needed, who may receive it, how long it is kept, and the choices available to users.
Version 2026-09-08-draft4. TutorSouq is currently used as the platform trading name. Formal entity, licensing and dispute details will be added after incorporation and legal review.
Information we collect
We collect account and contact details, child learning information, tutor verification documents and references, booking and financial records, messages and safety reports, homework and class metadata, and technical security information where needed to operate TutorSouq.
How we use information
We use information to create accounts, match families and tutors, verify tutors, manage bookings and payments, provide class infrastructure, communicate, protect children, prevent fraud, investigate complaints, improve service, comply with law, and establish or defend legal claims.
Children
A parent or legal guardian must authorise a child account where required. We minimise child data, use age-appropriate safeguards, prioritise the child’s best interests, and do not use child information for behavioural advertising.
Tutor verification
Passport, national identity documents, suitably masked Aadhaar where accepted, permits, qualifications, and two professional references are restricted administrative records. They are never displayed to students or parents.
Sharing and international processing
Necessary information may be shared with the selected tutor or family, approved hosting, authentication, email, video, file, payment, analytics, support, and security providers, professional advisers, and competent authorities. International processing uses safeguards required by applicable law. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Account data is ordinarily retained while active and up to three years after closure; contracts and financial records for the legally required accounting period, commonly five to seven years; messages ordinarily up to three years; and recordings, where enabled, ordinarily no more than 90 days unless an incident, claim, or legal hold requires longer.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent, and human review of a significant automated moderation or profile decision. Contact support@tutorsouq.com. Withdrawal applies prospectively and does not invalidate earlier lawful processing.
Security and changes
We use access controls, appropriate encryption, logging, secure development, backups, vendor controls, and confidentiality measures. No system is risk-free. We will assess and notify qualifying incidents as required by law and date material updates to this policy.
