General terms and conditions

Version 2026-09-03 · These terms work together with the private agreement accepted by tutors, parents, and students.

1. Scope and acceptance

These General Terms govern access to and use of TutorSouq by visitors, parents, learners, tutors, and other authorised users. Role-specific Tutor or Student and Parent Terms also apply and control for that role where they are more specific. By creating an account, booking, teaching, or using the platform, you agree to the terms applicable to you.

2. Accounts and acceptable use

Provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and promptly report unauthorised access. Do not impersonate another person; scrape, copy, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or probe the platform; bypass access controls; introduce malware; misuse class links; harvest contact details; or use TutorSouq for fraud, harassment, unlawful content, spam, or off-platform circumvention.

3. Children and safeguarding

A parent or authorised adult must create and supervise a minor’s account and provide required consents. Users must keep communication age-appropriate and learning-related, protect children’s identity and location, and report safety concerns. TutorSouq may restrict access or preserve and disclose relevant records where reasonably necessary for safeguarding or required by law.

4. Recorded classes and learning materials

A class may be recorded only for the authorised learner’s private revision after required notice and consent. A user must not make an unauthorised recording or download, screen-record, copy, edit, publish, sell, forward, broadcast, train an artificial-intelligence system on, use in advertising, or otherwise exploit any class recording, transcript, screenshot, class link, tutor material, or another participant’s image or voice. Access may be time-limited and withdrawn. Suspected misuse may lead to removal, account suspension, preservation of evidence, and legal action.

5. Intellectual property

TutorSouq and its licensors retain rights in the platform, branding, software, design, and platform content. Tutors and users retain rights in original materials they lawfully provide, while granting TutorSouq a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, display, and deliver those materials for platform operation, booked classes, support, safety, and legal compliance. Users must have the rights and permissions needed for anything they upload.

6. Bookings, payments, offers, and refunds

Displayed availability and requests are not confirmed until the required parties approve them and any applicable payment arrangement is completed. Prices, currencies, platform fees, introductory offers, credits, cancellations, make-ups, refunds, and package expiry are governed by the confirmed booking and role-specific terms. TutorSouq may correct obvious pricing or technical errors before confirmation and will not remove non-excludable consumer rights.

7. Privacy, communications, and third-party services

TutorSouq processes personal information to operate accounts, matching, classes, schedules, communications, payments, safety, and support. Users must use personal information only for its authorised purpose. Video, email, payment, storage, analytics, or messaging providers may process information under their own terms. Service and safety messages may be sent electronically; marketing choices remain subject to applicable consent rules.

8. Platform changes, suspension, and termination

TutorSouq may update features, correct errors, moderate content, or suspend or terminate access for safety, fraud, non-payment, legal risk, repeated poor service, misuse, or material breach. Where reasonably possible, TutorSouq will act proportionately and provide notice or an opportunity to respond. Provisions concerning payments, confidentiality, recordings, intellectual property, liability, and disputes survive termination where their nature requires it.

9. Force majeure

No party is responsible for delay or non-performance caused by an event beyond its reasonable control that could not reasonably have been prevented or overcome, including natural disaster, war, civil disturbance, government action, widespread utility or telecommunications outage, public-health emergency, cyberattack despite reasonable safeguards, or platform-wide provider failure. The affected party must notify TutorSouq promptly, mitigate the impact, and resume performance when possible. TutorSouq may reschedule, extend, credit, replace, suspend, or cancel affected services. Personal inconvenience, ordinary scheduling conflicts, avoidable equipment failure, routine local connectivity issues, or an uninformed holiday are not automatically force majeure.

10. Disclaimers and responsibility

TutorSouq facilitates tutoring and related tools but does not guarantee a particular tutor match, examination result, grade, admission, uninterrupted availability, or earnings. Users remain responsible for their decisions, devices, connectivity, conduct, licences, and lawful use of materials. Nothing excludes liability, remedies, or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Complaints and disputes

Contact support@tutorsouq.com promptly with sufficient details to investigate a service, safety, payment, privacy, or content concern. The parties should first try in good faith to resolve the matter through TutorSouq support. UAE law governs these terms and disputes are subject to the competent UAE courts unless mandatory law or consumer protections require otherwise.

12. Changes, notices, and general provisions

TutorSouq may update these terms and will identify the current version; material changes may require renewed acceptance. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. No user may transfer an account or agreement without consent. These terms, applicable role-specific terms, and the confirmed booking form the agreement concerning the service, subject to rights that cannot legally be limited.

Questions about these terms should be sent to support@tutorsouq.com. Obtain independent legal advice if you need help understanding your rights or obligations.
